'S dubh an oidhche chaidleas sinn...

It is with a lazy confidence that he carries himself. Slouched shoulders match equally withered ears and both thumbs are hooked loosely onto the straps of a Gleaner's heavy backpack. Everything about the washed out Viera is languid, easy.Everything except those sunken, blue eyes. Barely resting in one spot for more than a few seconds at a time, they betray a much sharper awareness than first glance. Old Warder habits, perhaps? Or a man making note of quick exits or prospective marks both...Either way, the welcome little smile that curves his eyes just so serves to banish those thoughts before they truly take hold. It leaves behind something akin to roguish charm, if a little rough around the edges.

*Demisexual : People who are Demisexual will not develop an amorous attachment without first establishing a deep personal bond with someone. As such, Anam doesn't really do romantic relationships very often. He's far from shy and can easily be physically affectionate towards someone, but a long-term pairing is highly unlikely.

**Language : As SE leaves a lot of room for homebrewing, I've drawn on my native Scottish folklore to build it. His Clan is a highland Skataen one, with full language, beliefs and all that jazz. Contrary to the fanon, the Highlander in-game race are not Scottish coded, they are Central/South European.

***Accent : Although I type Anam's dialogue with an accent do let me know if you are having trouble reading it! I do try to keep it as readable as possible but if it still gives you bother, I would much rather drop or tone it down for the sake of being able to roleplay smoothly ♥

Opportunities; Bought & Sold

Known in the Gleaner's Guildship simply as "Harrow", Anam has made a name for himself tracking down the more elusive requests and refusing to shirk the more dangerous ones. For better or worse.
When not in Sharlayan proper or out on Guildship business, he is often found at his established place of business in Limsa; the Bickering Banshee.
But there are rumours surrounding "Harrow's" name of late. Rumours that grow more and more unsavoury the further one digs.
That charming smile is fast losing its luster.

Pick-Up Hooks

  • Gleaners & Gossip - Anam's main occupation is that of a Sharlayan Gleaner. He also owns a small, dubious tavern-bordello in Limsa's Mist district that functions as a pit-stop for sailors and errant Gleaners both. Lovingly named the "Bickering Banshee" it is a small hub of rumours, underhanded trade deals and various gossip. All of which can be bought from someone named "Harrow". (Bal, Mists, W23 P11)

  • Information - Drunken tongues reveal all sorts of useful nuggets; stolen artifacts, hidden warehouses, unexplored ruins. "Harrow" seems to hear a lot of them. If you've the coin to pry secrets from the walls, and his lips, who knows what you'll find.

  • "Harrowgait" - A slender, female Viera has been spotted sharing the same name. Even the same mannerisms. She's taken to handing in some of the Viera's Guildship marks, too.

  • Light Fingers - Some Ul'dan noble have something they don't deserve? Or did someone make off with a precious family heirloom? Or maybe your own pockets suddenly feel lighter...

  • Are You Alright? - Anam looks to be in a perpetual state of exhaustion. Bags under the eyes, stooped shoulders, slightly vacant expression... Not to mention just how cold he seems to feel. Easy to assume he carries an affliction.

  • Unsavoury Company - Recently rumours have begun to circulate that the Gleaner is involved in the more morally corrupt side of the world. Human trafficking, wet-work, forceful reclamation of goods... Harrow's name is popping up in darker circles more and more.

  • Aether Eyes - Aetherically gifted and able to clearly see aether? Your character would easily notice that there is something following Anam wherever he goes and that his own aether is notably pallid. (Not Voidal.)

  • Grave Habits - Those that frequent Eorzea's cemeteries and burial chambers might have caught glimpses of the Viera studying such places, usually around dawn or dusk.

  • Sharlayan Studies - Sharlayan characters may have seen "Harrow" frequenting the Studium on his off-hours. The few tomes he did borrow included titles relating to biology and fairytales.

  • Wolven Hour - Decent tracker? If you've come across Anam out in the wilds, chances are your character noticed tracks of something very close to his camp. Large, grisly paws and patches of dark fur that indicate perhaps a wolf nearby...

  • Hunt the Hunter - An assassin matching the Gleaner's description wouldn't be unknown in the darker circles of Eorzea. Fancy your chances confronting him? Or maybe you want the bounty on his head.

  • Vieran Tribal RP - While Anam hasn't been with his tribe in a long time, I am open to this!

  • Former Warder - Anam is also not shy about Clan life. His years as a Warder are far from forgotten and that skillset still gets utilised. Maybe your character has noticed the way he moves with his spear, or holds his bow.

  • I Have An Idea! - Thought up something that's not on the above list? Excellent! Send me a tell, I'd love to hear it.

All RP Hooks are considered common knowledge and to be used freely!"Harrow" is Anam's pseudonym and inquiring after this individual will lead you to the Banshee.

Welcome to the OOC Page~This last little section of handy bullet points contains my own personal limitations & things I'm actively seeking. If you have any questions I can be reached in game, via Tumblr or on Discord at Anamsgith.May your adventures be chaotic and your OC’s ever disobedient.
Happy Roleplaying & Thanks for Reading ♥

LIMITS:

  • Mature/Dark RP is welcomed which includes themes some may find ‘delicate’ in a sense; Anam is a smuggler as well as a Gleaner with rumored involvement in slavery, though these two do not have to cross if it makes you uncomfortable.

  • I draw a hard line between OOC and IC. I am not my character and while Anam does a lot of awful things, I do not condone them IRL or share his views. Fiction is fiction and while I am well aware Anam is a terrible person, that does not make me one.

  • I am tell-friendly, open to questions and walk-ups are welcome provided that the RP Tag is turned on!

  • None of the darker themes will take place without OOC consent from both sides and I will check in frequently. Any discomfort and the writing stops. Your mental well-being is more important to me than story. ♥

LOOKING FOR:

  • Themes - I heavily enjoy the darker, grittier and more horror-influenced settings. Before writing in XIV, a great deal of text-based RP was set in the Soulsborne universe. Anything that falls into that bracket I'm down for; murder, assassinations, slave circles, eldritch fuckery, curses, etcetc. If you have an idea or are unsure of something, please just ask!

  • Plots - I have a couple of ongoing things with Anam himself and I much prefer long, developmental arcs over shorter stuff, but if you have ideas or need a fall guy for a plot of your own, I'd love to at least hear you out!

  • I am happy to RP scenes involving physical/existential horror, violence, drug/alcohol use, sex, moderate gore/blood/torture, temporary injury and incapacitation, temporary imprisonment/kidnapping.

  • I am not interested in roleplaying scenes involving permanent character death or total incapacitation. This applies to Anam only. If you want a throwaway assassin NPC, that's fine! He can be a stand-in and I'll happily let you kill someone that looks suspiciously just like him~

  • Realism - I'm not overly fond of high levels of power when it comes to RP and much prefer a more realistic approach to combat. I tend not to use rolls and instead do a free-form style of combat by way of a battle of literary wit, so to speak. I realise this requires a degree of trust, so if you prefer dice rolls, just say the word!

  • Regarding the First - I am open to RP on the First. There is a version of Anam there that is completely seperate entity from this one and lives the standard Warder life in Rak'tika.

NOT LOOKING FOR:

  • ERP / Hook-ups - I don't mind erotic scenes if they happen because of plot but I prefer it to have an IC reason, please and thank you. I don't do walk-up ERP.

  • Shipping - I am very unlikely to ship with people I haven't known for long (i.e. over a year). Anam isn't the type to actively seek out relationships. Being demisexual, he has to really know someone before he considers anything beyond friendship. This means months of IC interactions.

  • Voidsent Plotlines - This isn't anything against people that play Void-adjacent characters, I've just personally had my fill of those types of stories.

I also run a horror RP Group situated on Balmung!

Tales of a Wandering Warder

Welcome to the drabbles page! Here is where you can find the link to the collection of short stories I've done for Anam so far.
These have been inspired by RP scenes, backstory and from prompts during the FFXIV Write.
Content warnings are attached to titles.

The sun stretched its hand over the frozen fields of the Coerthan Highlands, bouncing off the snow with a merciless glare. Squinting as he tightened the strap of his quiver, Anam sighed, crunching out into the snow from his makeshift cave home. Today he would make for Ishgard.
And he wasn't looking forward to it.
He had heard tales of the arrogant Elezen, looking down on the world from their high tower, forcing their beliefs onto others. There had been something about a war as well, though Anam couldn't remember the details. Still, if he wanted to see all of Eorzea, he had to at least visit.
He wasn't obligated to talk to anyone, after all.
Unless he somehow managed to get lost.
But how hard could it be to navigate a tower?
With a pre-emptive nose twitch of annoyance, the Viera strode purposefully towards the fiery beacon of Falcon's Nest on the horizon.
